Coconut Oil Refining Plant Process :
Neutralization
Bleaching
The neutralized washed oil is pumped to the Bleacher. Prior to taking charge in the bleacher the vacuum is created in the bleacher with the help of low vacuum equipment through catch all. When the full vacuum is attained in the bleacher, hot oil is sprayed in the bleacher with the help of sprayers under the vacuum. There by evacuating moisture and soap particles coming along with the oil. Simultaneously the agitation is going on in the bleacher to agitate the mass for subsequent drying of the oil. Ones the charge is taken in the bleacher the oil heated gradually by the steam. The mass as being stirred by the agitator when the desired temp. is achieved the mixture of predetermined quantity of fuller earth and activated carbon is sucked in the system with the help of vacuum. After mixing of bleaching agent with oil and simultaneously heating the oil up to desired temp. The bleaching reaction starts and is continued till it is over. The oil earth mixture is then pumped to the Filter Press. The filtered oil from the Filter Press is taken to the BOT by gravity.
Deodorization
Benefits of Spectec's Deodorizing Section :
- Vacuum balance tray design ensures zero vapour logging i.e. effective distillation.
- Online fatty spraying also helps for zero vapour logging which ensures maximum vapour to carry to the scrubber without distilling in trays .
- Effective de-aeration increases the heat exchanging efficiency, because of zero dissolved air .
- Efficient re-generative heat exchanging trays ensures maximum heat recovery and addition deodorizing time .
- Counter current flow (oil / steam) design increase the tray efficiency for better deodorization & distillation.
- Vacuum sealing arrangement for power failure.
- Simple & low maintenance automations.
- What are the main coconut oil processing steps?
Coconut oil processing involves dehusking and deshelling the coconut, extracting the oil by pressing the flesh, then separating the oil using centrifugation , followed by filtration and potentially a refining stage of bleaching and deodorization for edible grade oil - How does a coconut oil plant work?
A coconut oil plant first processes fresh or dried coconut kernels, which are then mechanically pressed to extract the oil . The resulting oil-water emulsion is then sent to a centrifuge or a combination of boiling and centrifugation to separate the oil from the water - What is the coconut oil extraction process?
Coconut oil can be extracted using wet milling of fresh coconut meat or dry processing of dried coconut (copra) - Why is refining important in coconut oil processing?
Refining is important in coconut oil processing to remove impurities like free fatty acids, pigments, and odors, which enhances the oil’s purity, stability, and shelf life - What technology is used in modern coconut oil plants?
Modern coconut oil plants use technologies like automated screw pressing for dry extraction, centrifugation, and vacuum drying for wet extraction, combined with advanced pretreatment equipment like magnetic separators and mechanical dryers - How does Spectec India support coconut oil processing projects?
Spectec India supports coconut oil processing by offering complete, turnkey solutions including design, engineering, and manufacturing of plants and machinery for edible oil refining - What are the benefits of refined coconut oil compared to crude oil?
Refined coconut oil’s benefits over crude (virgin) oil include a higher smoke point suitable for high-heat cooking, a neutral flavor and odor, and a longer shelf life .
